New mum Jennifer Lopez names twins
Singer Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony have reportedly named their
newborn twins Max and Emme.
Lopez' manager, Simon Fields, confirmed the babies' names to People
magazine.
The twins were born at a Long Island hospital on February 22, with 5lbs 7oz
Emme arriving about 15 minutes before her 6lbs brother. The hospital's name
was not disclosed.
Fields said Lopez, a first-time mother at 39, was "thrilled" at the babies'
arrival. Her 38-year-old husband has three other children.
The couple married in 2004.
The babies arrived a day after both their parents were named as winners of
Latin music's "Premio Lo Nuestro" awards.
It was Lopez's father David who broke the news that she was expecting
twins. He told a Spanish-language TV programme that twins run in the family.
Lopez, whose screen credits include Maid in Manhattan, The Cell and
infamous flop Gigli, will soon be seen in comedy drama Love and Other
Impossible Pursuits.
Jennifer Lopez has hired a masseuse and colour therapist for her newborn
twins.
The 'Do It Well' singer and husband Marc Anthony have also reportedly
ordered two Shetland ponies for son Max and daughter Emme, along with
diamond-encrusted rattles, 600-count Egyptian cotton for the baby's cots and
designer babygros for the nursery wing in her Los Angeles home.
A source said: "Jennifer has gone all-out to give the twins an amazing
childhood. She hired a colour therapist to paint the nursery a beautiful
aquamarine and light blue - colours which are supposed to have
intelligence-boosting properties.
"She listened to classical music all through her pregnancy and is now
having music piped through to the nursery to help relax the babies. She has
hired a professional baby masseuse to come in once or twice a week."
The 38-year-old star, who has allegedly turned into a "germaphobe" since
becoming a mother, has also reportedly banned flowers and presents from the
twins' nursery to ensure it remains spotless.
The source added to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "She is also
paranoid about hygiene. The twins' wing is totally sterile and all flowers
and presents are stored in a separate area so they don't contaminate the
babies' area. It may sound excessive but she only has her kids' best
interests at heart and wants to give them the start in life she never had."
Earlier this week, it was claimed Jennifer is so terrified about the
fraternal twins being exposed to germs she asks guests to use a special
antiseptic hand lotion and don surgical masks before they enter the nursery.
Jennifer Lopez 'blissful and happy'
Days after giving birth to twins, Jennifer Lopez seems to be happy with her
new brood.
That is according to her long-time friend Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, who
produced Maid In Manhattan, in which the actress-singer starred.
"She sounds very peaceful and happy and blissful. She said, 'I can't take
my eyes off them'," Ms Goldsmith-Thomas told People.com.
The 38-year-old and husband Marc Anthony welcomed their new additions - a
girl, followed by a boy - shortly after midnight on Friday morning.
And Ms Goldsmith-Thomas revealed that parenthood is a dream come true for
the couple, who have been married for more than three years.
"She and Marc are so ready for a family," she said.
"They love each other so much and built this beautiful life together.
"It feels like the only thing missing were these children, and now they
have them. She really enjoyed her pregnancy."
The producer added: "She has been nesting. And she has been resting, which
is different for her.
"She has really found a balance - before, it was a massive amount of work.
Now she is so excited about these babies. Marc and Jennifer are twice blessed
and they couldn't be happier."
